This post is for the my brothers and sister.We are in our forties now & we know what we went through to get where we are today-we are Warriors of The Light

The last month has been a time of contemplating old patterns. Once we have certain attitudes it can be frustrating to let go of these deep seated old ways.They are wounds and may take time  to heal and to create new attitudes. Know that they will be your strength. I grew up with a lot of warrior like friends around me. A type of clan. We lived in the suburbs of Detroit. We came from middle class homes. Our spirit’s are the same yet we are on different places on the path. Sting has a song that says “we were born in the 50′s”. Our song would say “we were born in the 60′s”.We will always be a part of this clan.The Warrior within. I am not completely like the southern belles around me. There are pieces of me that are sensitive and southern after being here over 20 years, but on the inside my warrior spirit was born in Michigan where I grew up.

Today, I know how to transform the consciousness I was born with to create a more powerful life experience.How to change  rebelliousness into  strength, perseverance, and purpose.

Changing the rebellious, stuck, blocked attitudes into something positive is very natural if you understand how to get to the root of the problem.Understand it is a need that requires love, knowledge and wisdom.

For instance the attitude of trust. I grew up not trusting anyone-that was a family trait. Today I have turned that into trusting god or spirit to lead the way.The spirit knows what is in your heart and will lead you to who you are.

Faith puts you back on course.

Trust spirit that all the  qualities within you will transcend when you focus, practice, while following your dharma.  You may not know how to at first, but your instincts will guide you.A book, a class, a group all can put you on a different track.

A Warrior needs this to stabilize his or her energy. An energy that is powerful.He  is a student on the spiritual path.

He is continually learning to transform his energy to something that enlightens his spirit.

I believe my dad was a Warrior. What he accomplished in his lifetime as a doctor with 6 children probably made his humble Croatian parents wonder.They were immigrants, my grandfather working in a coal mine and my grandmother was a good mother who cooked meals for the family and whoever else happened to be staying at their house.My dad was the second child of four children. He was a caretaker and told us stories of how he worked  at 12 years old for a  Chinese man delivering laundry in the mountains of British Columbia before they moved to Windsor, Ontario where many other immigrants lived.

Warriors come into the world to break barriers. They are delivering a message. Their path is not straight.  Sometimes it will seem completely futile. However, when they least expect it a course of direction will change. They will intuitively know the next step to take.All that he has been pursuing will suddenly go in a new clearer direction. He may feel afraid about this new direction.As magical as a Harry Potter story,the way will lead itself. The Warrior may feel reluctant but needs to trust one more time.

Here is an excerpt from Paulo Coelho’s book “The Warrior”:

“The Warrior unwittingly takes a false step and plunges into the abyss. Master, I have fallen into the abyss.Remember one thing replies the master, you only drown if you stay beneath the surface. And the Warrior uses all his strength to escape from his predicament.”

Another comment from the author about our dreams says:

“When we first begin fighting for our dream, we have no experience and make many mistakes. The secret of life, though, is to fall seven times and to get up eight times.

“So, why is it so important to live our personal calling if we are only going to suffer more than other people?”

“Because, once we have overcome the defeats – and we always do – we are filled by a greater sense of euphoria and confidence. In the silence of our hearts, we know that we are proving ourselves worthy of the miracle of life. Each day, each hour, is part of the good fight. We start to live with enthusiasm and pleasure.”

We all have a piece of the Warrior inside us. Knowing how to transform the dark side into the light to become enlightened, guided, and directed is part of the new frequency of energy we are all feeling. We can remember this on our walk in life. The new spirituality requires us to transform, changing with the storms as they come. Through prayer, meditation, and spiritual practices we can be prepared as we grow through this profound time in our lives.

Lately, I have been thinking about our chakras while listening to different songs.

I think you will like this one by Gomez from a few years back.Songs are a lullaby for our souls and spirit.Telling us stories we can relate to and remind us of our innocence.

If you have ever felt  you can relate to what the lyrics are  saying in this song then you have probably been through difficult times that left your chakra’s imbalanced. The song is letting us know that when we find love which is the heart chakra that deals with self love, love, fear, isolation and”let go” being content with what we have each day, we will balance our root chakra that deals with contentedness, being grounded, inability to let go, lack or abundance.

There are people who show up in your life, people you see or run into each day. The ones who are still here on the physical level. However, when those who have left us on the physical level show up we can know they are assisting us.  I often feel like the women on “Charmed.” This  show is about three sisters who are witches and keep their magic to themselves. It would be great if everyone could see what I see. I don’t have a magic potion and I can’t make myself disappear but the visions, dreams, and psychic abilities I have are magical and fun. We have living friends and family with us here and also the ones who are what we call “dead”.They are not dead. Some of them are more alive then the people I meet in this world! All of our friends  and family who have passed over or made their transition are here for us as I have said.If you find yourself feeling lack of anything-tap into the other side and feel the magnetism of your friends and family helping you.Doing this will fill you and give you strength as opposed to focusing on the emptiness that they are gone which they really are not.Allison Dubois of the show “Medium” said that when she wants to remember her dad who passed away she goes to the movies and eats a hot dog and popcorn with her children just as she did with her dad.My dad liked fried onion sandwiches.I need to eat more of these and make a place for him at the table!

Practice letting go of what is not here( on the physical level) as suggested by Lao-tzu in the Tao. Ask for help in a meditation or prayer  what you need to know or do.Ask for assistance from someone who died and you may be surprised at what happens.

A good way to change your thinking is to offer your help to someone,do some form of exercise, or practice being grateful.You will feel release from any attitude that may be blocking you. Never assume that you are alone. I recently was at the store and heard someone sing “you are not alone” by Michael Jackson. I said thank-you to the spirit world for that message while I was doing mundane thing like buying cleaning supplies.Another old friend came to me last night and that is why I titled this post “old friends”.He was a neighbor I grew up with. If any family or friends are reading this you know how much we cared about George who died of drug overdose in 1996-it was tragic because he had a great personality and a we all loved him.He told me he remembers me walking down the street from my girlfriends house who lived next door to him and he see’s us playing in her backyard.George has a brother and two sisters-one of them I became better friends with in college.I understand what their family has gone through because my own brother passed over in January from alcoholism.

I felt like I had gone back to that time of our innocence and freedom so many years ago.Those of us still here can thank our creator for our fortunate lives and that we are healthy.

The simple act of allowing ourselves to feel the innocence of our younger days brings peace of mind. In the spirit world there is no time.Live without striving as the Tao suggests.Our minds tell us to strive, but we know  that we can live in the present and remember all of our the people in our lives here and in the next world.

I love the Meher Center in Myrtle Beach S.C. A great place to go to be in the woods next to nature among others who are looking for spiritual renewal and rest. In the middle of all the Myrtle Beach hotels, motels and tourists is this wonderful humble place. The cabins and community style kitchens are a great way to meet people from all over the U.S. and world.Young, old, business people or families come here for simplicity and peace. I feel lucky to be so close to this sanctuary!

The movie The Shift by Dr Wayne Dyer teaches us that finding our true nature or dharma we can create a sense of meaning in our lives. We can put our ego’s aside for a while and nourish the side of us that has been silently waiting. When you do your life will be fulfilled, and ego will be silenced for the time being. Bliss will fill your spirit. It is such an uplifting movie.Many of the characters in the movie are leading lives that are unfulfilled and on auto pilot.Each one of  them has a downward spiral and turning point to answer a call for more meaning. I can relate to each one of the characters in the movie-especially the mother who decided to return to her art. You can watch it on the link above for less than five dollars-well worth it.

I  watched the movie “Serendipity” with John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale.The first time I watched it I didn’t see how relative it is to my own life. There are many events that happen in the movie that are so much like the way I live and probably for many of you reading this.

Serendipity comes from the word Serendip the Arabic name for Sri Lanka

The  fairy tale, called” The Three Princes of Serendip” tells a story of their highness’s travels, who were always making discoveries by accident and sagacity, of things which they were not in quest of.(Thank-you Wikipedia)

Serendipity is a way for our hearts desire to come to us and a perfect way to stay balanced about desires and prayers. Letting them go and sending them out into the universe then allowing them to come to us in the right time. As Sandra Ann Taylor mentions in her book 28 Days to a Magnetic Life,”by creating a daily intention of optimism you’re finally able to let go of doubt and shift your consciousness to hope and trust, you’ll find yourself moving comfortable and confidently in to direction of your goals.The optimistic energy will be greatly accelerated.Whenever you catch yourself longing for something you can say to yourself, “that would be nice but I don’t need that right now to be happy.”

Serendipity I believe is optimism, trust, and a lot of preparedness. I think there are an abundance of serendipitous moments, yet we can pass them up because we are not paying attention.I love the beginning of the movie where John Cusack (Jonathon)meets Kate Beckinsale(Sara) at a department store while buying gloves.They have a conversation that leads to coffee at a restaurant called of coarse, “Serendipity.” Although they are both in relationships they are not so happy about, they take this chance.I wondered how many of us would do this?

Luck is a crossroad where preparation and opportunity meet.

The movie gets more interesting when Sara gives her phone number to John and the wind blows it away leaving them to wonder if this is this fate. He then gives her his phone number on a dollar bill and she uses it to buy mints and told him if this bill comes back to me then we know this is fate.Later in the movie she discovers the dollar bill with his phone number on an airplane through the flight attendant.Keep in mind all along he had been trying to find her.I think the movie emphasizes these magical moments to fill our hearts and souls with hope and possibility.

You may have read that some of the most enlightened gurus manifest things simply by thinking them into there awareness.

My daughter had a dream recently that she was thinking of a small furry animal and then the it appeared in her hands. Later that week she did receive something she wanted for a long time.It came unexpectedly!  She asked for it and then received it.

Many unexpected and lucky events happen in Serendipity that romance our souls and show us how playful the universe is. I believe this is what the child inside needs to wake up to our innocence. We trusted this much as children,yet as adults we can becomes dry, dull and relentless with our daily lifestyles.Our lives can be like the actors in the movies we pay to see. I believe that movies are another level of awareness helping us see that our daily lives can be rewarding with purpose,synchronicity, and luck.Isn’t that why we go to the movies? To renew our souls and relax for a short while.

Alter your thoughts a small amount each day and add some trust along and lightheartedness and I imagine you will see some serendipitous moments appear.After all, we are all wizards and have the ability to believe in the magic around us.

It is midsummer and the days  seem long, hot and lingering.All comes to a standstill right about now. I love summer because I was born in July-Freida Kahlo, the Dali Lama and I have something in common…we have the same birthday.I have had some good alignment with the universe and some shedding of the old to bring in the new.  I felt  guided to do Yoga and went to a site called YogaToday.com.The teachers are perfect and the Grand Tetons as a backdrop makes you feel like you are there in Wyoming. Recently, one of the wonderful teachers named Adi read a quote.It was by Pantanjali and  states that “When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds: Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great, and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.”

You may also be familiar with this quote through Dr. Wayne Dyer’s books. He wrote about Pantanjali a few times. The idea that we can gravitate towards what we need is genius. Through all of the changes we can allow ourselves to build this kind of life. Sometimes the things that come to you may appear unfruitful. However, just around the corner is something better waiting. It is really by practicing being positive, praying, and using positive affirmations when you feel confused about something that you can create a vibration of trust.

According to The Teachings of Abraham in the book “The Astonishing Power of Emotions” by Esther and Jerry Hicks, “going with the flow of well being or the natural current you will consciously rediscover the amazing sensory perception you were born with that helps determine the direction of your true path” One of the best ways to create our intentions and transcend limitations is to understand that we have  stream of thoughts that are either “upstream or downstream” as stated by Abraham.

An upstream thought states:

“How did I get here?

Why did this happen to me?,

This is too difficult for me.”

Whereas a downstream thought states:

“I am not going to let this get the better of me”

“I will triumph over this”

“I can handle this situation”

Looking at the thing that you do not want and holding yourself in a vibrational alignment with the unwanted does not bring you to a better place.

Continuing your thoughts in a downstream flow will help you realize your desired intentions.”I can handle this situation” is much better than “how did I get here?”Your thoughts like a current or radar will lead you to new ideas. If we  feel anxiety and pressure this leads us to create more of the same resulting in ourselves becoming stuck. Practicing  downstream statements will eventually bring you to a new and better place. Just as the little child who is lost,  we can learn to trust and relax in the forest and an answer will come. It is the small changes that lead to bigger results.Creating the life you desire may be work, however, when these “dormant forces” come alive it is magical. The reward for your efforts will be worth it. As Pantanjali said: “you’ll discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.”

We are never alone.Even by ourselves we are not alone.Death is just a door opening to somewhere else. -Willie Nelson

I continually  find clues from my dad who passed away 13 years ago in 1997.I hear his chatter in the echoes of my mind and his guidance directing me like a captain steering a ship.The other day I noticed a Parade Magazine laying around with Willie Nelson on the cover. When I saw this I thought “oh , there’s dad again” reminding us he is right here with us.  We have countless, and I mean countless opportunities to see those who pass away are right here with us however, until you start believing, you will not see it. Let me explain further.My dad loved Willie and they could have been brothers.I believe that they had a past life together which doesn’t surprise me at all. When I saw the picture of Willie on the cover of Sunday’s Parade Magazine I knew that was my dad saying “I am right there with you”.  My dad also loved Gene Autrie.When I hear the song Red River Valley it is such a powerful message because he whistled this song all day long.Consequently, I was not paying attention this past Sunday and did not read the paper until tonight. Allison Dubois from the show “Medium” mentions this many times in her books that the deceased can arrange situations for you.Songs you need to hear, places you need to go, and people you need to meet.Spirits are energy so they can get your attention through thoughts, feelings, and even electrical devices. If you watch shows on the paranormal, it is common for a spirit to flicker a light.They are here to help you with your life.  There is more to the story. When I finally read the article about Willie he said, “country music is three chords and the truth” a popular expression describing country. I looked up the quote and the person who this quote is attributed to is a man named Harlan Howard. He was born around the same time as my dad in Detroit, Michigan where my family is from. Also, Harlan Howard was inducted in the country music hall of fame in 1997 which is the same year my dad passed away! I have been procrastinating  all day trying to get in the mood to write when this all came together.

We are spiritual beings having a human experience-

If at any time you feel like your deceased relatives or friends are not with you and you are just a human being having a human experience, well darlin’ forget that because as Sonia Browne my mothers favorite medium says, “the veil to the spirit world is getting thinner”. All these spirits are right here with you encouraging, leading,  and guiding you. As a matter of fact, last year I used to hear over and over my dad tell me to “type”. I often get psychic information long before it happens and now I see my dad has wanted me to write. Writing is a trait in my family, and I love this creative aspect and along with painting . Last but not least,  in the article Willie said regarding his son who died of substance abuse(like my older brother did six months ago), “Death is not the ending of anything.I believe all of us are only energy that becomes matter.When the matter goes away the energy exists.You cant destroy it.It never dies.It manifests itself somewhere else.We are never alone.Even by ourselves we are not alone.Death is just a door opening to somewhere else.Someday we will know where that doors opens to. I believe that I really do”-Willie Nelson

Do you have a dream within you? Do you find yourself getting hooked, snared, and caught in scenarios that you are connected to because you were born into this reality? If you reverse this thought of feeling cursed and turn it right side out, you may find out who you were meant to be. I am writing about this because I do know intuitively that there is an answer on the other side of the insurmountable odds. It is our birthright to reach higher levels of awareness and with persistence you can. Through these higher levels of awareness we can feel the freedom of different patterns of thought.We are released from memes or mind virus’s-  a belief or attitude as described by Dr. Wayne Dyer in his book, Excuses Be Gone. Dr. Dyer states that this word was created by Richard Dawkins an Oxford biologist and originates from the word mimic, observe, or copy. In his book “The Selfish Gene” he describes how this behavior is passed on to others and are not necessarily good or bad.It can spread to and from other people’s minds.According to Dr. Dyer,”Memes die hard because they become who you think you are, shedding them is like trying to discard one of your vital organs”. Many of these memes come from your family history.A popular meme we are familiar with is to “eat everything on your plate”.On a more positive note, I like to follow a “live simply because less is more” belief. As someone who has always been a free spirit, I  believe that an abundance attitude permeates my thoughts. Regardless of what my personal or financial situation is, I can swing back and forth to having more or less, however, basically I am the same person on the inside knowing that I will always have what I need.I do not require a huge amount to feel good about myself.I have learned like my dad (and Dr.Dyer) that having one pair of pants and a few shirts is really all you need.I believe my “living simply/less is more” is a good meme and came from my dad’s humble upbringing in an old European family.

Possibly you have a meme that permeates your thinking and tells you that you cannot pursue the dream you have inside you.   I believe my lesson in this life is to free myself from this meme. When I first moved to the south from the Detroit area I saw something different . Of coarse, they do have memes, however, I felt a freedom here from the attitudes I grew up with. There is a consciousness where I live in Charleston that is a renegade type thinking that persists in breaking down the old school mindset and meme’s.It is as though this entire area is under construction getting rid of the old and bringing in the new. I believe the creative consciousness is a way to overcome these attitudes.I landed in the perfect place to express my creativity that was not acceptable as a profession while I was growing up. I still find myself having to practice each day the higher awareness of the creative writers,artists, and musicians here in Charleston.The flow of creativity  alleviates this  mindset. It actually corrects or attunes lower energy thoughts. Higher awareness wins over any lower thoughts. My core beliefs from the past can  surface, however, when I choose to remember the higher creative consciousness then I know I am choosing to overcome the  lower energy thoughts.

We each have a meme that we can overcome. You probably have done this already at some point in your life.Living in our society it seems many meme’s are coming to the surface to be healed.As Bob Marley said-

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery; None but ourselves can free our minds.

Your spirit will thank you.

Allison Dubois “What I ‘ve Learned From The Dead”

In this short video I was in awe as I listened to Allison. Through grieving , I also realized that those who pass over are happy and free.If we can practice knowing that they are free then we will feel relief from our own grief about them.Our society needs to understand that they are as close to us as they always were!Other cultures know this already such as American Indians,  yet we seem to take longer to understand because we are still growing spiritually.As Allison mentioned, do the things they loved to do and remember they are right there with you!
